Anyone keep bees?

Ive been thinking about keeping some bees and wondered if anyone else on the estate did... or knows someone that does?

Bees?!

What an odd idea. I for one haven't had any bee keeping experience.

I'm fairly sure you will probably need some form of licence to do it in your garden. Imagine if your hive swarmed an innocent person trundling by on the other side of the fence.

I take it you are wanting to make your own honey?

yes you got it, i do like honey on toast for breakfast... as for the swarm going next door, well, i suppose i could keep my fingers crossed :twisted:
ive got a real problem neighbour, loud music, swearing, fights in the garden....he has already had one polite visit

my school used to keep them, but then we had to get rid of the due to health and safety.
I think you probly could keep them, but ive had a brain wave.
Why dont u get a alotment (sp) and keep them there, they have plently of flowers and you can grow your own veg!

Yes, well I had at the time of writing. Just looked and there are none at present, sometimes I have 4 or 5 and they are visiting my flowers, so technically I keep bees!
